Integral Touch Technique

Integral Touch Technique, or ITT, is an organized array of individual elements and parts forming and working as a unit. It is a touch technique that includes spinal alignment, emotional work, and energy balancing. I have been developing this technique over almost 30 years of experience as a massage therapist, chiropractor, and energy healer. This therapy affects the nervous system by influencing the meningeal tissues that surround the spinal cord and the brain, the acupuncture meridian system, and the chakra centers. Applied kinesiology, Energy Psychology, Brain Gym, Reiki, and Reconnective Healing are the major therapeutic modalities that have informed my work.

In my practice, I use a combination of memory recall along with specific contacts on acupuncture points to release the emotional charge on an issue that a client feels is constraining him or herself. After the emotional charge is dissipated, I gently contact the spinal bones, the cranium, and the sacrum to assist the body in breaking the dominant pattern of traumatic memories, restrictive conditioning and unhealthy, long held fear or fears that have been residing in the central nervous system. Most of these contacts engage the parasympathetic nervous system and are deeply relaxing. I often complete the session with a purely energetic healing modality such as Reiki or Reconnective healing.

The mind/body system uses neurotransmitters and chemical substances and their receptors as a means of communication. These neuropeptides (amino acids made mostly in the brain) are not only located in the brain, but in the blood stream and the hormonal system. They serve as the communication network of the entire nervous system creating a feedback loop between our emotions, our brain, and our immune system.

The energetic body uses the chakra system as a distributor of emotional and other energies. Conventional esoteric knowledge tells us that the energy of the chakra system feeds the meridian/acupuncture system, which in turn feeds the nervous system. I believe that there is always a bi-directional flow of energy within these systems; each system is connected to and influences the other.

Integral Touch Technique starts wherever the system allows the best access, knowing that each component of this healing system will affect both the emotional and physical bodies.
